An exchange between my sister and her boyfriend.

Sister: I don’t think I’d want to live in a 17th century Canadian fort. I’d probably be stuck wearing a skirt and baking bread.
Boyfriend : But you like wearing skirts and baking bread.
Sister : Oh yeah …

When I first arrived in Lusaka, I saw two men walking down the street holding hands. I though to myself that Zambia must be one of the few African countries that is relatively accepting of  homosexuality. It turns out that being gay is actually illegal here and Zambians just like holding hands.

“There are only two types of jobs in this world. There is the job where you shower before you go to work in the morning and there’s one where you shower when you get home at night and the world needs both.”
