Top 10: the longest non-stop flights in the world

Monday newsletters always feature top 10 travel lists to inspire.

Today (March 6, 2017): Top 10 longest non-stop flights in the world.

If you think that flights between Europe and America, or Asia and Africa, are too long, then think twice. Because they pale in comparison to the world’s ten longest non-stop flights, all with a minimum flying time of 16 hours or a distance of at least 13 km or 8,000 miles. “Are we there yet?!” might possibly be the worst thing you can ask a flight attendant on one of these trips. When Singapore Airlines resume their non-stop Singapore to Newark and Singapore to Los Angeles flights next year, these route will again be the longest ones in the world, taking around 18 to 19 hours.

  1. Years ago I flew from Toronto to Delhi, it was an almost 17 h nonstop flight. It was rough, but once there India made up for it a hundred times.

  2. Interesting that 7 of the 10 belong to airlines based in the middle east. Soon you can add Qantas perth-london to the list.

  3. Emirates doesn’t fly an A380 to Houston. They fly a 777-300ER. Also, in a few years you’ll be adding New York to Singapore on the list right? That’ll be interesting.

  4. Can you imagine a non-stop route betwwen Madrid to Auckland? Doesn’t matter if is operated by Iberia or Air New Zealand
