Today (April 18, 2016): top 10 best luxury resorts in Mauritius.
The idyllic island of Mauritius with its unspoilt beaches and azure waters offers a unique experience of European, African and Asian cultures. It is one of the top three island destinations in the warm Indian Ocean (the other two being the Maldives and the Seychelles). But while Mauritius is undeniably scenic, its beaches are not as stunning as those of the Seychelles and the Maldives. The latter islands have the most beautiful beaches of the world and are covered by lush vegetation, while the beaches of Mauritius are gorgeous but not exceptionally beautiful and the island’s vegetation is rather sparse. Nevertheless, Mauritius boasts some of the most luxurious resorts in the world, being on pair with those on the Maldives and better than those in the Seychelles. I hereby present you a list of my 10 favorite resorts in this paradise island.
There is more information below the slideshow. Think I missed one? Share your favorite Mauritius hotel in the comments section, or take my poll below!

6. ROYAL PALM HOTEL
Sheltered on the northwestern coast amidst lush gardens, this property is laid out so that all the suites face the lagoon, where guests can enjoy complimentary water sports. Its pristine stretch of beach is as sparkling white as the uniforms of staff who know guests by name. A proud member of “The Leading Hotels of the World“, it symbolizes the harmony between luxury and refinement. While the resort’s acclaimed spa, amenities and activities are decidedly 21st-century, the views of the crystalline sea and the palm-lined coast could be plucked straight out of Bernadin de Saint-Pierre’s 18th-century novel, Paul et Virginie, set on the island.
