Today (January 11, 2021): Top 10 most luxurious airport hotels in the world.
Staying overnight at an airport hotel is often considered a necessary evil for business and/or leisure travelers, since these hotels are associated with noisy rooms, terrible service, bad breakfasts, and overpriced rates. However, the last two decades have seen the addition of several high-end properties nearby or in airport terminals, changing the art of the layover with a cutting edge design and a new range of luxurious amenities. Here’s my pick of the 10 best airport hotels in the world (with the number one hotel being a destination in its own right).
There is more information (with reviews and YouTube videos) below the slide show. Think I missed one? Share your favorite airport hotel in the comments section, or take my poll below!

Would like to add the Saxon Hotel in Johannesburg, 2196, South Africa. Although not at the airport, this is a stunning hotel. Stay in one of the Villas, their huge! Plus two great restaurants and a very quiet, peaceful place. FYI be careful while at O.R Tambo Airport: lots of shady characters; wearing a yellow vest right before they take your cash! It almost happened to us.
We stayed at the Munich Kempinski several years ago and I’m delighted it’s now a Hilton. It truly is a great hotel, and I recommend it highly. Best memory of our Kempinski stay is the fact that the front desk did not know where we could pick up a luggage trolley when we were ready to walk over for our flight. Three women with blank faces who made no offer to find out. So we just looked around a bit and found the walkway and the trolleys right off the lobby. I’ve often said that only space cadets work at hotel front desks, and this was a supreme example!
There is a Hyatt regency in Algiers international Airport. Not only South Africa has a luxury airport hotel.
Grand Hyatt Incheon, great service, best experience in an Asian airport hotel. CitizenM Schiphol Airport is the best in Amsterdam.
Me, 71 years old. After missing the last flight out, dragging my luggage on the sky train, running upstairs, broken promises, 3rd world shuttle rides, bent and almost broken, I arrived at TWA. The experience was surreal. I hope the first place you go when you transition is just like this.
thanks for giving the information about the airport hotels.
