Oh my gosh these are simply stunning, I think I may be in love! I think I’ve just become even MORE excited about my holiday (I literally didn’t know this was possible). Me and my husband are going to New York for a romantic getaway – it’s long overdue and we’re so excited for it. We haven’t figured out where we’re staying though yet so this is so so helpful! I’m a sucker for anything luxurious and as it’s a special treat my husband has said the sky’s the limit for choosing where we stay (the phrase every woman wants to hear). I was actually looking at earlier at going here which looks BEAutiful ( this is where I’m on about: http://www.berkeleytravel.co.uk/resorts/peninsula-new-york/ ) Do people know if this is this meant to be a good place to stay? I liked the look of it but thought I’d do a bit of research before booking anything first? Any other recommendations people have would be massively appreciated too! Anywhere in America is great though – whether it’s California or Texas or the Rockies or anywhere literally! Myself and my husband love exploring so we’re open to absolutely any suggestions! Thank you everyone!
Great list of luxury hotels in NYC! I’d consider adding the Lotte NY Palace and Baccarat
https://www.nycinsiderguide.com/luxury-hotels-in-midtown-nyc
I would add the Trump Central Park West Hotel between 60 & 61. Right around the corner of the Manderian. We’ve gotten great rates below $500 and looking over Central Park. And add one of our favorite restaurant, Boulud Sud, 20 West 64th Street. Enjoy!
What about the Equinox Hotel Hudson Yards? Great heated outdoor pool and wonderful rooms!
The Knickerbocker ?
I think the Baccarat Hotel should have been on the list!!!
All great luxury options for those planning on traveling to New York in the New Year. The Four Seasons is my personal favorite option, but with a list like this, it’s difficult to go wrong regardless.
You should definitely come back to nyc to update this list! The Baccarat is conspicuously missing, and with the new Aman (plus the Ty Warner/FS squabbles over the FS Midtown causing its closure), things are changing! (Purely my own opinion but the MO is quite dated and in serious need of refurb. The pool isn’t nearly as lovely in person as the picture here suggests.)
What about the Plaza Hotel?
Some extraordinary 5 star properties are missing –
I guess the ones you’ve listed for the most part fit the bill though
One that some associate from long ago as “ 5 star “ fortunately is not listed –
THE PLAZA HOTEL – ( from hell )
It’s had sooooo many reported in the news problems and worse is in extreme need of a makeover
Even the very public areas are looking shabby – but no longer chic
So – on the positive side ?
The Carlyle Hotel ( along with Langham … my favorites )
Four Seasons
The Pierre
Just some thoughts
Thankyou
Came here to make sure The Langham was on the list, had an amazing stay there (and in Chicago, and London!)
Plaza is in great need of refurbishment for sure but architecturally deserves to be considered…The Pierre is a very good one, and let s see what will come out from closing of the Four Seasons on 57th…Bacarrat is truly gorgeous.
