Stayed here for 4 nights during the 2010 World Cup (July) and thought is was excellent in every way! Villas were luxuriously “over the top” – but watch out for monkeys trying to brreak in! Easy short flight from the “commuter” side (taxi transfer) of OR TAMBO international airport. The one bedroom villas would be perfect for a honeymoon or couple’s escape but unnecesary for a family with children or larger group. The safaris were excellent as was the staff. Close-up viewing of leopards is their “specialty” but the all of the big five were in attendance. The food was top notch and they would prepare almost anything you wanted. A tour and tasting in their well-stocked wine cellar was educational on South African wines. I haven’t been back yet but this review reminds me of just how wonderful an experience the Ivory Lodge was – so I will most likely return in 2025 when visiting Botswana.
