Today: Aman announces a luxury resort in the Maldives
Aman – widely acclaimed as the most exclusive hotel brand in the world – has announced its 21st destination and the 35th addition to its hotel collection: Aman Maldives, a private island oasis in the Vavuu Atoll. Located in one of the most secluded and exclusive parts of the Maldives, the new Aman will feature a 52-key resort and 16 branded residences, designed by longtime Aman collaborator Kerry Hill Architects.
The resort’s architecture will take inspiration from the white coralline beaches and clear waters for which the destination is so renowned. With standalone pavilions ranging from one to three bedrooms, some located on the main resort island and others on its extensions, each will include a private pool.
In addition, the property will offer a variety of restaurant venues, beach club and several private dining locations. The resort’s expansive spa facilities will span 8,655 square feet. Situated on its own island, dedicated to wellbeing, the spa will bring new experiences in health and rejuvenation to the destination including two private Spa Houses, a signature of Aman. The property will also feature a dive center and watersport activities, for exploring the country’s reefs.
Aman Maldives will also be home to 16 Residences. Ranging from five to ten bedrooms, each Residence will be set on its own islet and complete with a private beach, while still being in close proximity to the main resort’s amenities. The properties will each feature a 25 m (82 ft) swimming pool and private landing jetty.
“The introduction of Aman Maldives is a significant milestone for our brand as we bring Aman’s ethos of timeless elegance, unparalleled service and ultimate private to the destination for the first time,” says Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group. “Responding to the request from Aman guests, for our presence in the Maldives, has long been part of our growth strategy and reinforces the brand’s dedication to providing unique and transformative experiences in the world’s most exceptional locations.”
The arrival of Aman Maldives will take the brand’s presence to 21 destinations and joins Beverly Hills, Niseko and Bangkok, among others, in a robust pipeline of forthcoming properties. Construction is now underway, with further details and a confirmed opening date to be announced in due course.

Aman + Maldives have to be my two favourite words in the whole world!
This has to be added in my bucket list of places to de-stress.
I see a lot of people seem to not like the direction Aman is moving in, they use to build resorts in lesser known areas that were unique but now seem to cater to popular destinations just like any other hotel chain.
