Hi, I am looking at staying at the Chedi next February and just doing my research before hand. Your video and web site review are most helpful and give a great insight to the hotel and its facilities. One query though is there a bar where one can sit and have a drink after dinner?

Hi, interesting and comprehensive post! I have been both at Al Husn and at Al Bustan. The stay at Al Bustan dates back quite a long time, the one at Al Husn is more recent. I did like the setting there and the afternoon tea/pre-dinner cocktails. What I did dislike was the room decor (too plushy in my opinion). I also did a review of this hotel on my blog: http://www.swisstraveler.net/2013/01/review-of-shangri-las-al-husn.html. Several times I checked on the Chedi, but each time I was reluctant to book there. As you pointed out the view from the rooms are not always so good and they do not have a balcony. Nevertheless I like its design and you did shoot some amazing pictures!

Agreed, the Shangri-La beach is more scenic, but these pools! They look heavenly. An enticing post and reason to go back!

Hallo,
have been 2 times at the Al HUSN and once at the Chedi (club suit).
I agree with most of your comments. There was one thing we did not like at the Chedi: the lack of sun protection at the long pool. Although this pool for us was the most stylish one, we could not stay there because of this point. It was a pity. I think that a design (and we are design junkies) has always to be functionally (there are also very cool sun protections).

You never wrote of the business class from OMAN Air. You have to try it!!
