Do NOT do it!
Imagine this, in the middle of winter, out of season, in the middle of the week, their is not a single hotel that can offer me my “FREE” membership night. This clearly means you will never ever get what these lying sales people and supposed policy claims. It is all lies, DONT do it. I will never ever waist my money on this rubbish again.
Going forward I am boycotting every hotel belonging to this membership scam.

I joined their reward scheme a few years ago. Don’t get to travel often as unable to afford it but when I do have always booked one of their hotels. Been slowly building up points. My husband is due to have heart by-pass surgery shortly and the plan was to take him away for a couple of nights after the op, using the points. Imagine my surprise when I went to the site to find I had no points left. I emailed to enquire and got a response basically saying tough. If you don’t use them, they drop off after a year. If you add to the balance, it updates for another year but because it’s been more than a year since I could afford a trip away I’ve lost the lot. Even after I explained the situation, they refused to give them back. Said I would have got an email, but only if I was signed up to receive all their advertising etc. Cannot believe they would not care enough to give them back. Will never be using them again.

Writing a comment here as I’m not sure how to take this further with Accor, perhaps someone can advise …?
Like others in this feed I have found my points wiped at the end of 2019. I was 1000 points away from Platinum. This was apparently too far for the points to be upheld into 2020. I rang Accor yesterday and am appalled by the treatment I received. No manager wished to speak to me, they refused point blank to re-establish the points or even to offer token points as a commercial gesture. Last year I spent thousands in Raffles and Fairmont hotels, I feel disgusted that this is how my loyalty is rewarded. I was very clear that if they do not re-establish my points I will cancel all my reservations for 2020, which I will now do. Compared with Mandarin Oriental or other hotel loyalty programs, ALL is frankly seriously lacking. The person I spoke to via telephone yesterday couldn’t care less, advising me that it was in the T&C’s.
I’m very disappointed as I have been a very loyal Accor customer sleeping almost exclusively in Accor hotels last year.
Can anyone advise if they’ve had a similar experience
Thanks

Cannot get anyone to call me back from Accor regarding questions or concerns

I booked a night at Sofitel in Sydney but cannot make it on the date (as Partner’s mother very sick) and tried to move the booking to any other date.
This was refused.
I will no longer choose Accor hotels in future.

For years I’ve made a point of staying at least 10 nights at the Fairmont Princess and/or the Olympic so I could retain my status and generous perks. It’s no longer worth the effort when there are better loyalty programs elsewhere.

As a once happy member of the Fairmont hotel loyalty program, I’ve found that since Fairmont was absorbed into Le Club Accor, the benefits available to me have shrunken and become less generous. There are several other hotel loyalty programs that far outshine Le Club Accor.
