Mykonos is overrated, but in April it wasn’t too awful. Naxos has nice towns and nice hiking and nice beaches, and great food (best feta I have ever tasted), and yes some dusty roads too.

My two candidates for underrated places in Greece: Sifnos and Thessaloniki.

Just visited several islands. Santorini was overcrowded with tourists (just like us lol) and was easily our least favorite. Hard to feel the charm when evey inch of Oia streets jammed with people. Heard evenings there were more enjoyable (once the cruise ships leave).

Santorini and Mykonos, no thank you. Been to both, won’t be going back. Both just a cruise ship stop over. Lacking in a Greek feel to them, just get people in, get your photos of windmills and blue domes and get back on the ship! Next please !!

Greek islands are beautiful...but people need to check out Mainland Greece as well....so much to do and see from seeing the start of the Olympics to Sparta...Corinth Canal...Monevasia....Meteora & the list goes on...not to be missed is Elafonisos an island with beaches like the Maldives.

Naxos is one of our favourite places to visit. The galaxy hotel is superb.

Wonder why Dellos is missing from this article. In a way good that lesser people know about it & the island remains preserved. Recommend people to at least Google & know more about Dellos.

Have to say we found Naxos beautiful.
We visited for one night from Santorini, and can’t wait to go back for a longer visit.

Naxos is overrated with messy unpaved dirty roads but very nice beaches.

I hoped I would find Patmos, the holy island of the Aegean, on your list. Its association with the Apostle St John attracts thousands of pilgrims every year.
