As a premium frequent flyer with both Cathay and Singapore, both are excellent flying experiences. However….. Cathay look after of their frequent fliers way better than Singapore!
I’ve been a premium flier on both for 8 years. I have never managed an upgrade on Singapore using miles or status. In contrast, I can’t recall how many times Cathay have upgraded me without even asking. Singapore Gold level lounges are very ordinary. Silverkris lounge is ok, but never as good as Cathay Premium lounges. Cathay lounges knock the socks off Singapore’s equivalent.
Cathay’s online booking and Marco Polo service is exceptional.

And while getting the recognition is not all its drawn our to be, I was sorely reminded on my last SQ trip SIN-NRT-LAX in business class when they clearly catered to their own frequent fliers and I was left with by 3rd choice of entree on both sectors – I know should have done book the cook, but was hoping for the Japanese meal and yah that didn’t happen lol. Now if only CX started a pre-order service!

The Singapore Changi Airport is one of the best-rated airports in the world. I have flown with both carriers and I have to say that the food on Singapore Airlines it exceptional.

Moreover I have UA 1K status and AA Exec Plat status- must say One World is 100x better in terms of lounge access- Qantas First lounge @ LAX and Cathay Pier First in HKG…IMO two of the best lounges in the world.

How do I collect my air miles? Do I need a card or to sign up to anything? Huge fan of the YouTube channel by the way I’ve just put together my first large holiday thank to You:)
