your post is timely,as a tourist in Hong Kong most marches are widely advertised well in advance, making it easy for visitors to avoid them.To stay safe, keep an eye on local media reports to monitor which areas are affected, especially at weekends when most protests take place

I’m currently enjoying a visit to Hong Kong. Smooth experience at the airport, and all quiet and normal in Central where my hotel is. The hotel concierge will tell any areas to stay away from, and as of now, there are none.

Just follow your government’s advisories.

Thanks for this very timely post. My wife and I were enthusiastically planning to visit Hong Kong in September and were all set to purchase the tickets and hotel to get a chance to enjoy the beautiful ocean and skyline views from the hotel room! After I heard about the demonstrations and the airport flight cancellations for two days, we had to change our plans 🙁
Now we will visit somewhere else and in a couple of years will visit Hong Kong!

I feel the same way, No way would I risk my vacation dollars and time to have a bad experience. I love Hong Kong. It is my favorite city in Asia. Second favorite world city to New York. it is a shame. But I don’t think this will get any better for a long time.

As a Canadian, I would not go anywhere near Hong Kong or China.
Taiwan would be the only “China” that I would consider travelling to until the China -Canada confrontation ends. I would not want to disappear into the bowels of the Chinese legal system ever.
