It should be avoided at all costs, unless you love being surrounded by noisy Italian children (and they get loud, trust me).

Puente Romana on the other hand is missing in action on this list. Fantastic place to be

Having just returned from the Forte Village, Sardinia, 2 days early, I would not suggest this is a Top 10 Luxury Resort in Europe in the slightest.

It is for FAMILIES with loads of kids, so if you want a nice hotel with your partner, avoid this like the plague.

No vegan or vegetarian menus in any of the restaurants we went to. There are supposed to be 21 in all. We found about 6. No smoothies or shakes served anywhere on the resort and when we asked the CONCIERGE, he didn’t know! I mean what on earth.

Very noisy restaurant, the Il Castello. They think it a good idea to add a pianist playing a portable keyboard (that nobody is listening to) to the noise of staff banging and clattering the cutlery and plates, kids screaming, people talking and so on. Then the Tiki Bar starts its DJ up in the evening so you hear the boom boom boom of the base on top of the pianist and everything else. Ridiculous.

There is a live band that plays outside most nights, from 9-11pm, so if you want a nice relaxing or romantic evening, or an early night, you’re not going to get one here. Instead you will hear the band from everywhere on the resort.

It was appalling weather so breakfast was inside one morning. It was even noisier than it was outside with the kids, staff clattering cutlery and plates, people talking loudly. Such an unpleasant experience. It was like feeding time at the zoo!

There are no adult only pools, or areas in the whole complex. There is a water park, so that in itself tells you this resort is for families with kids.

The staff are not very good English speakers either. Some are, but the majority are not. Not what you would expect from a supposedly luxury resort.

The resort is not 5 star as we know it in London. It is 3.5 at best. If the weather is bad, there is nothing to do. We left 2 days early and have never been so delighted to get back to England, where the weather was much better than it was in Sardinia

It’s a definite NO from me.
