Just month ago i spent 200k point on Europe travel stayed in Hyatt in many cities with family and only Amsterdam Hyatt Regency is generous to me (not sure why i got this feeling…this should be my award but not a favor to me by Hotel). Hyatt should conduct a survey of the % of Suite upgrade awards has been consumed, and will know why the suite upgrade not making me happy but angry at most of the time. Why the loyalty program pushing away the loyalty customers?

Try Hyatt regency in green bay… Under the new system you can NEVER get a king bed with awards or points.. I tried every month as far out as the system allows and no dates for a king.. just double queens. I find this very discriminating for very tall customers who need a larger bed. Don’t even ask about ADA rooms.. no chance.

The free night vouchers are no longer usable at ziva properties. read the fine print. I’ve stayed at the Ziva in jamaica twice using a combination of free night vouchers and points. I will no longer be able to do that in the new program. They’re also cutting the points paid per stay 40-60% after eliminating the amenity bonus. So free resort stays will take twice as long to achieve. You can do much better with every other major hotel program.

When I went online to find out what point structure these hotels fall into, I find that on booking during a certain date/time, it tells me no offers are available that use points. How does this work with the “no blackout dates” advertised? It seems more confusing than it needs to be. Is Ziva/Zilara still included?

They no longer offer an amenity or an amenity bonus in points. As a Globalist that stays 100+ nights in hotels per year. (around 60 in hyatts) that is a huge hit to the points they pay out. I used to accrue 1200-1900 points per stay on average. That’s now 800-900 points. You can do much better with other programs. In fact it’s not even close when considering it costs 25K-35k points per night for my family of 4 to stay at a resort for vacation. The one nice perk is you get upgraded to suites if they’re available. Other members are telling me they get declined suites because they’re not available. BUT you can book one for $ if you want. I’ve been a loyal hyatt customer for 3-4 years now. Apparently they don’t want my $ anymore.
