8. SOHO HOUSE CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, USA

The fourth U.S. outpost of the London-based members club is housed in a historic industrial building and easily as cool as the creative and media types its aimed at. Members of the other clubs will recognize the features and the look: gritty exposed brick walls juxtaposed with vintage chandeliers, muted retro décor—velvet couches, worn Persian rugs– that looks lived-in, not brand new, and a rooftop pool, the largest of any of the clubs,  this time with Chicago’s famous architectural skyline, Willis Tower included, as the view.  There’s also a private screening room, plus a spa offering scotch ‘n’ shave for gents, which wouldn’t look out-of-place in an episode of “Mad Men”. The property has 40 rooms.
