Cadillac vs BMW. Apple vs Microsoft. ? Which one. There are distinct engineering differences on how they make those products which make you feel or decide which is better. To nitpick would be very difficult.

Aesthetically, I like the sleek beautiful shape of the A350 compared to the humpty B787 when you see them taxiing on the ramp at airports. Also the stick looks more modern than the yoke, for the pilots. With the Airbus, you can decently eat your meals with a table in front of you.

In reply to Dustin Stephens.Such a pointless biased article. People fail to realise Boeing reinvented how planes could be built. Tail fin camera - give me a break?! Google ‘Bleed air systems’Boeing ditched it for dedicated purified air intake which is why you don’t get poisoned on a 787 and feel refreshed. Every other plane sucks air via the engines.

Just came back from a trip (11th Sept) with a transit. Both planes were Singapore Airlines. First was the brand new 787-10 (3.5 months old) and 2 hours later, it was the A350-900… I’d prefer the latter. It’s wider and quieter (surprisingly the 3.5 month old 787-10 creaks more) and the A350’s entertainment system seems more suited for kids which is good for long hauls. I believe both planes look good but just dig that curved shark-tip on the A350’s wing and that batman look for the cockpit! Looking forward to a long haul in A350 in the near future.

In reply to columbia.And what about smaller space? It feels really cramped the 787, the A350 is clearly wider. And regarding windows, art leat me, I hate them, so bigger windows would be a negative. And even for someone liking light, a slightly bigger windows would not compensate traveling in a more cramped space.

The cabin pressure and air humidity is better on the 787. You arrived after a long flight less tired. I also think 9 across on a 787 is much, much, much better than 10 across on an A350. The sweeping lines are more aesthetically pleasing on the 787 than than the boxy A350. But the best part are the extra large windows. Very unique. It makes the plane feel much larger. All in all, the 787 is the clear winner here.

In reply to Dustin Stephens.It's widely known that Airbus planes are quieter. A380 vs 747/777. A350 vs 787. I have flown on all these aircraft multiple times and the difference is very obvious!

FYI Malaysia Airlines has first class cabin on its A350
