But the 50% deals are not bad, although you pay a lot of taxes.

I had a substantial amount of airmiles expiring in June 2019 and was advised to apply for the credit card at a cost of £79 a year to stop this. I applied for the credit card and now notice my airmiles expire in December 2019. I’ve been told this is because I have not used the card every month. When asked where it said this on the letter accompanying the card, I was told it was in small print in terms and conditions when applying. I have been cut off three times by customer service today, experienced an extremely impolite customer service agent and as for contacting customer service in writing on their website, I have never experienced such difficulty and am still trying to successfully send a complaint letter. Customer loyalty is clearly not appreciated.

The earning level for FF is not too onerous for regular travellers, but Senator (Gold) is now such harder to achieve.

I have not yet found out what happens on a codeshare. 😜

On both calls I was shocked by the surly and less than friendly attitude of the operator. Much more public relationship training required here please.

The problem is that Portland is a very secondary city for Lufthansa. I first signed on when they were in Portland, but they left years ago.

So, the flight they gave us from Portland was United, that went to Newark. Lufthansa starts out of JFK. So we have 3 hours and 20 minutes to collect our luggage, go cross town through New York, at the start of rush hour, check in again, go through TSA. Never mind the three hour lead time requested for international flights. This was not a continuation flight. We were just on our own and good luck.

So, I purchased tickets on line, that went through Chicago and did connect at the same airport. Almost all the flying is on Lufthansa, so I thought I could upgrade. It was all in the same class, coming and going, yet they would not let me go business back home. I wrote to customer service and they said I was covered. But then calling an agent and they said no. Then I get an e-mail from Miles and More and they state no. So, I have a letter that the “team” will not honor.
Screw the program. Wish I hadn’t been paying to be in it for so many years.

Tweets are not responded to, FB posts are not even read and emails get an automated acknowledgement with a Ticket / Incident Number, but nothing thereafter. Even the agents on phone are HELPLESS when it comes to providing any help. I have been trying to get miles for a flight I took on 27th Aug on LUFTHANSA and this flight appears on my statement as MILES ALREADY CREDITED though no miles have been credited. So much for my praise of the Miles and More programme in the past. I am afraid I am going to have to eat my words and keep lamenting about how low this has dropped to.
