Wednesday newsletters always feature a hotel or flight review.

Last summer (July 2023), I enjoyed a phenomenal safari & beach holiday in South Africa and Mozambique, probably my best holiday ever. You can read my trip reports here:

After an incredible holiday in Southern Africa, I flew back home with Air France onboard a Boeing 777 which was equipped with the carrier’s newest Business Class product: suites with sliding doors arranged in a 1-2-1 reverse layout. As I already described in my review of the outbound flight, Air France’s new hard product is excellent and the suites – which are spread over two cabins – feature cutting-edge gadgets such as sliding doors, wireless charging, bluetooth audio, and 4K high-definition anti-glare screens. Combined with the carrier’s excellent soft product – which includes gourmet cuisine designed by Michelin starred chefs – it all makes for a terrific flight experience, hence why Air France is one of my favorite airlines.

On top of that, there’s one little-known feature that makes Air France’s new Business Class product even more special and unique. Its bulkhead seats – which are located in the front of both Business Class cabins, more specifically in rows 1 and 9 – offer an enormous amount of extra space, which equals that and even tops the space you usually find in First Class cabins. IMHO, these are currently the world’s best Business Class seats and they seem to represent some sort of a “Business Class Plus” product. So far, Air France has not made a lot of fuzz about this feature and the carrier does not charge extra for these seats but they are only available to Flying Blue elite members at booking (although they also become available to other Business Class passengers 72 hours prior to departure). For my return flight to Paris, I was able to select a bulkhead suite during the online check-in process, which would be the prelude of one of my best Business Class flight experiences ever.

Have you ever flown with Air France? If so, what was your experience? Leave a comment.

In this review (more information & photos below my YouTube video):
